RPET Cups

RPET has a lower carbon footprint than PLA in 7 out of 9 LCA categories, according to a 2022 study by the University of Ghent. While PLA is bio-based, its agricultural inputs (corn farming) and industrial composting requirements create environmental trade-offs. RPET uses existing recycling infrastructure and does not require specialized waste processing. Our position: RPET is the most practical sustainable choice for cold cups today. PLA makes sense only in closed-loop, certified composting environments.

The US FDA has issued no-objection letters for over 200 RPET processes for food-contact applications.

Post-Consumer vs. Post-Industrial: Know the Difference

Post-consumer RPET (PCR) has 4x the carbon reduction impact of post-industrial recycled content. Data from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation shows that using 100% post-consumer recycled PET reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 79% compared to virgin PET, while post-industrial regrind (scrap from manufacturing) offers only marginal benefits. We calibrate all details to millimeter-perfect precision:
