Private Label Paper Jewelry Boxes

The private label paper jewelry box is a flip-top container manufactured from rigid or folding paperboard, featuring a hinged lid that opens like a clamshell or a book, available in square and long rectangular styles.

Flip-Top Hinged Lid for One-Handed Opening

The defining characteristic of this jewelry box is the flip-top hinge. Unlike separate lid-and-base boxes (where the lid can be misplaced) or tuck-top boxes (which require two hands to open), the flip-top lid remains attached to the base via a hinge.

Rigid Paperboard vs. Folding Carton

Private label paper jewelry boxes are manufactured in two material grades, each suited to different price points and perceived value. Rigid paperboard (set-up box): core thickness 1–2 mm (0.04–0.08") – dense, heavy, substantial feel. The box is shipped assembled (not flat). Rigid boxes feel more expensive and are preferred for fine jewelry (gold, silver, diamonds).

Ring Grooves, Necklace Pads, and Earring Slits

The interior of the flip-top box must hold jewelry securely and present it beautifully. Standard insert options include: ring groove foam (a velvet-covered foam pad with die-cut slots – 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8 grooves per pad. The ring sits in the groove with the band hidden and the gemstone facing up. Most common for square boxes); necklace pad (a flat velvet-covered pad with fabric straps or clear elastic bands that secure the necklace chain.

Custom Printing and Branding: Foil, CMYK, and Embossing

Private labeling is the primary reason brands choose custom jewelry boxes. The flip-top box's exterior – lid top, lid sides, base, and interior of lid – can all accept printing. Customization options include: foil stamping (gold, silver, rose gold, copper, matte black – heat-transferred onto paperboard.
