Custom Printed Tissue Paper

Custom printed tissue paper is lightweight, semi-transparent paper (typically 14–30 gsm) printed with your brand logo, pattern, or messaging – used to wrap, line, or stuff gift boxes, shopping bags, and shipping cartons.

Custom Printing on Delicate, Semi-Transparent Paper

The defining characteristic of custom tissue paper is its printability – despite being thin, delicate, and semi-transparent, high-quality tissue accepts sharp, vibrant printing. Printing methods include: flexographic printing (most common – uses flexible plates and fast-drying inks – ideal for 1–4 spot colors, logos, repeating patterns – cost-effective for medium to long runs (5,000+ sheets)); digital printing (short runs (500–2,500 sheets), full-color CMYK, no plates – higher per-sheet cost but no setup fees – perfect for small brands, seasonal designs, or test runs); and offset printing (highest quality, long runs (10,000+ sheets) – best for fine detail, photographic images, or when color matching is critical).

Bleached, Unbleached, and Recycled Tissue

Custom tissue paper is available in three primary material grades, each with distinct environmental and aesthetic profiles. Bleached tissue (virgin pulp, bright white) is the most common. It offers the highest brightness for printing – colors appear vivid, logos pop. Bleached tissue is made from virgin wood pulp (typically FSC-certified available) that has been bleached without chlorine (ECF – elemental chlorine free) or with chlorine dioxide (TCF – totally chlorine free). Unbleached tissue (natural kraft color, warm brown) is made from virgin pulp that has not been bleached.

Recyclable, Compostable, and Biodegradable

Custom tissue paper is one of the most environmentally friendly packaging materials available. It is fully recyclable in standard paper recycling streams (mixed paper). Unlike plastic wraps or coated papers, tissue paper contains no plastic laminates, foils, or wax. It is compostable in industrial composting facilities (and in home compost piles, as tissue breaks down quickly due to its thinness and lack of coatings).

Cushioning, Scratch Prevention, and Void Fill

Tissue paper serves critical protective functions in packaging. As cushioning: crumpled tissue paper creates air pockets that absorb shock. A layer of crumpled tissue at the bottom of a gift box protects against drops from 12–18 inches (30–46 cm) – sufficient for lightweight items like cosmetics, jewelry, small electronics. For scratch prevention: a single sheet of tissue wrapped directly around a product (e.g., a watch, a ceramic mug, a glass bottle) prevents the product from contacting the box walls or other products, eliminating scratches. For void fill: when a product is smaller than the box, crumpled tissue fills empty space, preventing the product from sliding and banging against the box during transit.
