The Iconic Round Box That Protects and Presents

The custom hat box is a rigid cardboard cylindrical or hexagonal container designed specifically to protect and present hats – from wide-brimmed sun hats and fedoras to baseball caps and fascinators – while serving as a gift box for clothing and accessories. Unlike square boxes that crush hat brims or soft poly bags that offer no protection, the rigid round hat box maintains its shape, supports the hat's structure, and prevents crushing during transport and storage.

Round Cylindrical Shape That Preserves Hat Brims

The defining characteristic of the hat box is its round cylindrical shape – designed to accommodate the circular form of most hats. A hat's brim is its most vulnerable feature; square boxes force the brim to bend at the corners, causing permanent creasing or warping.

Rigid Cardboard With Wrapped Exterior

The hat box is manufactured from rigid (set-up) cardboard, not folding carton. Core thickness: 1.5–2.5 mm (0.06–0.10") of high-density board – the thickness required to resist crushing when boxes are stacked. The base and lid are constructed separately.

Hat Stands, Tissue Paper, and Acid-Free Linings

Hats require specific interior features to maintain their shape during storage and transport. Interior options include: hat stand (a rigid cardboard or foam form that supports the hat's crown from the inside – prevents the crown from collapsing when the box is stacked under other boxes.

Ribbon Pull and Finger Hole for Easy Opening

The separate lid must fit snugly over the base – not too tight (difficult to remove) and not too loose (lid falls off). A precision fit is achieved through manufacturing tolerances: the base outer diameter is 1–2 mm smaller than the lid inner diameter.
